Hi everyone, we had a very successful New Years Day walk despite the mud! The next Bradmore village walk is March 18th 2018 starting at the Methodist Church at 1030. We will be walking up Mill lane to Flawforth church yard along the bridle path to Plumtree though the village then onto The Plough at Normanton on the Wolds where lunch is booked for 1pm. We will then return along the same route which gives panoramic views of Nottingham and the surrounding area. We will be walking for about 8 miles in total. Please confirm by the 4th March if you are able to come via email email@example.com.
Hi everyone the next walk will be on September 10th starting at the Methodist Church at 1230 a circular walk of 7 miles taking in Bunny old and new woods and to include a 2 hour tour of the Egaltine Vineyard. The tour costs £7 per person. Dogs are also welcome on leads on the tour. We need a minimum of 10 to make the tour viable. Please confirm your attendance by 27/8/17 via email to firstname.lastname@example.org
Hopefully we will have a fun day and a great walk which also includes superb views of Bradmore, Bunny and the surrounding area which not only includes woodland but wetlands also.
Now that spring is in the air why not join the next village walk on 7/5/17 at 1000 starting from the Durham Ox Pub and Kitchen, Church Street, Orston, NG13 9NS. This is a 5.25 mile circular walk taking in three pretty historic villages, Orston, Whatton and Aslockton (the birth place of Thomas Cranmer, Archbishop of Canterbury). This is an easy flat walk across pleasant meadows, farm tracks, passing a Motte and Bailey Castle, and along the river Smite where if we are very lucky otters can be seen. For those of you who would like to stay for lunch after please email email@example.com and I will email the menu. I need meal choices by the 22/4/17. Orston is about 30 minutes drive from Bradmore but well worth it!
Hi to all hope you are having a great summer. After talking to many of you who are away during the summer I decided to have two autumn walks instead of a summer walk. Would any of you like to join me on the Ride and Stride walk organised by Nottinghamshire historic churches trust? It is a sponsored event with the money raised being divided between the trust and the church of your choice. I am going to walk for the Bradmore Spire Church and you can either collect your own sponsors or donate via me. We will start at the Bradmore Methodist Church at 3pm, then walk to the Spire then onto Bunny Church. This will be a circular route of about two miles to get us back into walking mode!!!. Please ask your friends and family to join us. I have sponsor forms. For further details see Dawn Wilby, Sheila Clarke or Mike Peregrine.
On the14/5/16 nine intrepid walkers set off from the Bradmore Methodist Church.. We w walked down the bridle path to Bunny, meandered along a branch of the Fairham Brook, went under the railway line, along Logan's trail to Gotham where a warm welcome awaited us at The Sun Inn, for lunch. We then crossed fields and meandered along another branch of the Fairham Brook, to reach the railway line where we saw a diesel train pass, and returned to Bradmore. Summer walk to be announced soon!
Having led the successful of our annual New Year's Day walk (see pictures of the 2009 walk here) for a number of years, Dawn Wilby, now leads regular walks for villagers. These might be in the immediate vicinity of Bradmore or further afield. Dawn will put details of the next walk on site shortly, but in the meantime why not let her know that you are interested in joining?
